One Week to Go Heads Up Checklist
We are looking forward to your participation in next week's professional inquiry institute.
Some items of note to help you prepare:
-please arrive on time. Traffic can be a mess and so can finding a parking spot. Ideally carpool and reduce your carbon footprint.
-come prepared to give and take. Give of your experience and to do that well please consider bringing any examples of student learning that might be of value to other institute participants. That can include student work, slides, resources, videos etc.
Take from the wealth of experience and insights that your colleagues bring to the institute. This is what makes professional inquiry so powerful an approach to professional development. Experiencing inquiry ourselves also better prepares us to facilitate it with students.
How else might we help each other for the upcoming institute?
Hello everyone,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Laura Shevtsov and I am an elementary teacher with TDSB.
I am really looking forward to meeting and working with everyone overt he next three days. My knowledge about inquiry based learning doesn't go beyond what I have read during my maternity leave and what I have seen on a few videos, so I am really looking forward to expanding my knowledge about this topic.
See you all on Tuesday! :)
I, too am looking forward to learning about what global inquiry is all about. I took a workshop but left more confused and with more questions! A couple of colleagues at work highly recommended this workshop, so I am looking forward to learning what global inquiry is all about!
ReplyDeleteSee you tomorrow and thanks for sharing. I admit I have found it intimidating when asked to bring work samples. I do not feel I have anything to offer at this point!
